Professor Hsin-yi Lai was invited to deliver a presentation at CAFOE

On the 20th-22nd June, 2019, China-American Frontiers of Engineering Symposium (CAFOE), co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Engineering, was held in San Diego, California. CAFOE is an important academic exchange event co-sponsored by the Chinese and American Engineering Academies. It aims to provide an interactive platform with cross-disciplinary characteristics for outstanding young engineers and researchers in China and the United States, to exchange views on cutting-edge scientific issues in engineering, and to discuss the practice and application of engineering technology, which enabled in-depth international exchanges and cooperation between young researchers in the two countries. At the symposium, more than 30 young engineering science and technology experts from China and the United States discussed and exchanged views on the frontier fields and hot issues of "smart cities, new materials, neural engineering and 5G wireless communication technology" .

After nationwide selection and accreditation by the academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Hsin-yi Lai, from Zhejiang University Interdisciplinary Institute of Neuroscience and Technology, delivered the report entitled "Development and Prospect of Neuromodulation Technology" on behalf of the nerve engineering field, showing the strength and potential of young scientists in the field of neural engineering of Zhejiang University. In addition, Professor Lai has been awarded the certificate of distinguished young investigator of China Frotiers of Engineering by the Chinese Academy of Engineering for her outstanding work.
