We are currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in animal models of electrophysiology, who will conduct recoding neuronal activities using Electrocorticography (ECoG), Multi-electrode array (MEA), and Intrinsic Signal Optical Imaging (ISOI) from behaving monkeys’ cerebral cortex. The principal research goals include understanding of neural mechanisms underlying higher cognitive functions, including object recognition, attention, working memory, and long-term memory, and development of brain-machine interface (BMI) for such cognitive functions, in the macaque monkey cerebral cortex. The successful candidate is going to use our 256-channel TDT electrophysiology system (https://www.tdt.com/systems/neurophysiology-systems/).

A suitable candidate must be an expert in electrophysiology, have extensive experience with animal experiment and a background in neurobiology/neuroscience. Basic programming skills (Matlab) are required. Experience in behaving monkey experiments, decoding analysis with multivariate pattern analysis (MVPA), and/or TDT electrophysiology system will be helpful, but not necessary. The candidate must be able to communicate in English (oral and written) and be willing to work with students and PhD students. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

 

Salary and benefits are set according to the national and Zhejiang University regulations for post-doctoral associates. The annual salary is generally 160,000-200,000 RMB, depending on your ability and experience. We will pay an additional bonus according to your performance. An apartment on the campus is available at a special price.

Seeking postdoctoral and faculty candidates for fMRI projects at Zhejiang University. Zhejiang University Interdisciplinary Institute of Neuroscience and Technology (ZIINT, www.ziint.zju.edu.cn) seeks faculty candidates for study of cortical organization and development, using 2-photon and 3-photon instruments.  Competitive candidates will have strong optical and engineering background and a strong research program. Any of the following qualities will be considered a plus: 2-photon or multi-photon experience, optical engineering background, understanding of primate brain circuitry and/or cortical development, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to integrate multiple technologies.   赖欣怡,浙江大学医学院系统神经与认知科学研究所教授,附属第二医院双聘教授,教育部生物医学工程重点实验室及浙江省医学神经生物学重点实验室研究组长(PI)。

    研究团队长期致力于发展先进的神经工程技术,通过生医微机电技术、超高场磁共振成像技术、神经调控技术、计算神经科学等多学科交叉整合创新,开发脑科学研究及脑疾病诊治的关键技术,探索脑高级功能与神经网络机制,并与各大医院紧密合作,聚焦临床神经精神疾病,推动神经医学发展及科研成果产业化。

二、职位简介

1. 与PI教授团队合作,围绕脑科学及脑疾病诊治的研究,发展神经调控技术、脑机交互、生医微机电芯片传感器等关键技术、设计和申请基金项目,撰写论文和专利,以及协助指导博士和硕士研究生。

2. 根据研究需要在站时间可定为2-5年。工作地点为浙江大学医学院系统神经与认知科学研究所和浙江大学附属医院,浙江杭州。

3. 支持与国际一流大学联合培养和国际交流,支持与高新企业合作研发。

A postdoctoral position to conduct ultra-high-field MRI methods development and application studies is available in ZIINT, under the supervision of both Prof.Anna Roe and A/Prof.Ruiling Bai. ZIINT features an MRI center for both human and animal work (Zhejiang University-Siemens Brain Imaging Research Center) which houses a 3T Prisma and 7T Magnetom,MR-compatible sensory stimulus presentation systems, human MR-compatible EEG system,coil making facility, and animal support equipment. 


This project will be focused on developments of MRI sequences and methods on the 7T MRI.The potential directions includes but is not limited to (1) magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and related imaging techniques;(2) advanced diffusion MRI for microstructure imaging;(3) temperature mapping;(4) high-resolution CBF and CBV imaging.Another direction would be the applications of these newly developed sequences,for example, in the diagnosis of brain disorders by collaborating with hospitals nearby. The candidate will also have the chance to combine other methodologies developed in PI's lab, including optical imaging,neurophysiology, focal brain stimulation methods (electrical, pulsed near infrared stimulation,and optogenetics stimulation).


Candidates should have a strong research background in MRI technique,especially on Siemens platform. Familiarity with Matlab and MRI physics is a plus. Candidate should have ability to work both independently and as part of a team with other neuroscientists, MR physcists, and animal care personnel.

A postdoctoral position is available at the Laboratory of Perception and Cognition of Zhejiang university Interdisciplinary Institute of Neuroscience and Technology(ZIINT), Hangzhou.

Our researches include two major directions: a) The spatial encoding of sensory input signals in the brain. b) Neural mechanisms of object recognition. We will combine the research method of electrophysiological recordings, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and optical genetic etc. to study the neural mechanism of these functions.In addition, we will develop corresponding hardware and software tools based on the requirements of our research to assist our experiments.


Candidates with a strong background in visual/system/cognitive/computational neuroscience are encouraged to apply.Preference will be given to candidates whomeet one of the following conditions:
